Nickelodeon Movies' "Rango" Nominated For Nine Annie Awards

'Kung Fu Panda 2' leads Annie Awards with 12 nominations

DreamWorks Animation's Kung Fu Panda 2 leads the 39th Annual Annie Awards with 12 nominations including 'Best Animated Feature', 'Best Animated Special Production' and 'Voice Acting in Feature Production'.

Kung Fu Panda 2 once again follows Po (Jack Black), who is now a trained warrior, and the Furious Five (Angelina Jolie, Jackie Chan, Seth Rogen, Lucy Liu and David Cross) as they battle with a new enemy, evil peacock Lord Shen (Gary Oldman).

Oldman and James Hong, who plays Po's father Mr Ping, were each recognised for their vocal talents in the animated film.

Both Dreamworks' Puss in Boots and Paramount's Rango got nine nods, while Disney's critically-acclaimed Winnie the Pooh received eight nominations and Pixar's Cars 2 got seven nods.

Back in 2009, Kung Fu Panda took home ten awards of its 16 nominations at the 36th Annual Annie Awards.

It won 'Best Animated Feature' of the year while Dustin Hoffman, who played Master Shifu, was awarded for 'Best Voice Acting'.
